Pocket filofax-a-long series Ep01

My YouTube series has started and I'm so excited!
Way more excited than seems to be coming across on camera!

Let me fill in any gaps in the details. So basically I started my YT channel at the beginning of January and it really took off! I don't really know quite what I expected to happen but I'm pretty sure it's far exceeded any expectation I could have had!

Sweet treats: Millionaire Shortbread

Having recently closed my business I've rekindled my love of baking for my family.
Spurred on by the much loved Great British Bake Off I found my self looking for different ideas of things to bake aside from just cake! Don't get me wrong, I love me a bit of cake but lately buns, bars and slices have got me salivating!

So I settled on a childhood favourite, Millionaire Shortbread and I'm here to share the recipe with you.

Before you begin, preheat your oven to 180C (350F) or Gas Mark 4 and find an 8 inch square tin.
I like to line mine with baking paper so it's easier to remove at the end!

Fathers Day 2015

So credit where credit is due, I wrote this post well in advance of the day in question. However, and I hate to keep using this excuse, technology failed me again! I have the blogger app on my tablet and it wasn't showing any of the pictures and then wouldn't publish, even without the pictures! It's taken me this long to get round to fixing everything and essentially all I've been able to do is open the draft, copy the text, email to myself, pick up on laptop, paste in from email and basically start again! Please - enjoy!

This year's father's day is on Sunday 21st July.
We didn't make to much fuss last year for reasons I can't remember so this year we've made an extra effort.
A few years ago I made some necktie bunting so that is our decor.
My husband, Andrew has really got into running this past year and has accumulated a impressive collection of medals.
After looking on Pinterest for ideas of how best to display them I hatched a plan. I asked Andrew to find a quote he liked and also a font.
He made lovely choices and I'm really happy that it will fit in with our home decor.
Here's a photo walk through of how I made the medal hanger.

I made an appearance at the Philofaxy London Meet up!

This past weekend was the latest and my first Filofax meetup organised by the very lovely Steve of Philofaxy in London.

It was a fabulous day.

My friend Anna (aka Mrs Brimbles) and I caught the early train (because it was cheaper!) and we started the day with a spot of shopping!

First stop, Fortnum & Mason.
If you're not familar, check out their website. It's just divine.
I absolutely adore their selection of teas.
We ambled around the entire store almost, and made an important stop at the stationary department to touch some planners!

We found a stunning collection of teapots too.

I couldn't not share the mouthwatering delights in their confectionery department.

And here's a little bonus video of some more!

Pocket Filofax-a-long series |Ep3| How to print free diary inserts

Finally, episode 3 is live!

Now, I haven't taken any pictures for the reasons stated in my last post so I will post the link to the video below.
I printed some pages from the Philofaxy page and hopefully you'll find it really useful if the Filofax own brand aren't working out for you.

You can find free inserts in the following places;
Steve Morton's Philofaxy.com
Ray Blake's mylifeallinoneplace.com
DIYplanner.com

I also mentioned DIYfish inserts but they are not free and can be found in her shop on Etsy.

Make yourself a cuppa, here's the video.

Back soon xx
